Mr. Levente Dénes
Biography
Levente Dénes is Associate Professor and Director of Natural Resources Research Center at Charles Simonyi Faculty of Engineering, Wood Science and Applied Arts, University of West Hungary. He received his wood science master degree from the Transylvania University of Brasov, completed his PhD at the University of West Hungary and obtained the habilitation qualification in 2016. He was also Post Doctoral Fellow, and invited Visiting Professor at the West Virginia Univ., Division of Forestry & Natural Resources, USA.
His research field includes wood composites, the statistical based product development, investigation on the use of statistical process control and experimental design methods in wood industry, applicability analysis and implementing of quality management and quality planning methods in furniture industry and wood machining processes, investigation on decorative veneer waste recycling into new value added products, development of light weight composite core materials for interior and exterior applications using different foam-type resins, development of corrugated thin wood panels for new innovative hybrid composites used for structural applications, investigation on the effects of composite manufacturing parameters on the wood orthotropic properties, development of intelligent products and systems and started to be involved in comfort analysis and additive manufacturing recently.
Levente Denes provides expertize in furniture design and manufacturing, joinery development and testing. He has co-authored over 100 scientific and technical publications and shared the research results in numerous presentations. He is member of Society of Wood Science and Technology (SWST), Scientists Association of Sopron, Hungarian Academy of Science, Public Body, Material Sciences Section, Wood Industry Scientific Association (FATE), COST Domain Committee member for Forests, their Products and Services, Wood Technology expert.
