Biography

Dragoş-Nicolae Pîslaru is of profession economist and has graduated the Masters programme in International Relations of London School of Economics and obtained the PhD Diploma from the Romanian Academy – National Institute of Economics Research.

After a career of nine years in academic and applied research at the ASE București, Romanian Center of Economic Policies and The Group for Applied Economics, in 2007 he becomes founder partner and general manager at Gea Strategy & Consulting S.A., where he has coordinated numerous key projects in strategic consultancy, both in private and public sector.

In December 2015, Dragoș joins the technocrat Government leaded by Dacian Cioloș as a State Counsellor in economic matters and afterwards, starting with April 2016, he becomes Minister of the Family, Social Protection and Elderly People Ministry.

Starting with 2017, at the same time with the fusion between Gea Strategy & Consulting S.A. and the international consultancy company Civitta, Dragoș returns to the private sector as Partner responsible for entrepreneurship and innovation.

Dragoș is a convinced supporter of the development of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Romania and in the Region, with an emphasis on creative industries and innovative technology businesses. In this sense, he sustained the development of industrial clusters and coordinated and founded in Romania o series of initiatives and global partnerships, as the Global Entrepreneurship Network, Creative Business Cup, Get in The Ring or the technology accelerator RICAP.

In personal life, Dragoș is passionate of yachting and enjoys life with his four sons.
